I'm concerned about our 13 year old vegetarian daughter getting enough protein and whether or not to feed our 4 month old meat (when he's old enough!) I'm concerned about eating too much soy but it's hard to fit beans into every meal. And to be honest, frozen soy products are convenient.

Re: National Breastfeeding Month: Mother’s Milk Benefits Mother & Child

I realize that breastfeeding may not be possible for everyone, but for those that it is possible... they should. they should just like we all should do the best thing possible to stay healthy. does the fact that Dr.Weil also has a line of bottles influence his stand on breastfeeding promotion?

Re: Yoga: A Natural Prescription for Stressed-Out Moms Plus Give-Away

Yoga in whatever form works for YOU is an amazing tool! If you've been practicing a while, the prenatal classes may be too "101" for you, so look around for classes led by teachers who understand how to modify for pregnancy. I thought that prenatal was too slow - there's only one that I like and my favorite is a non-prenatal class labeled "gentle yoga." A good yoga teacher who has had children is what you need - and a prenatal class may not get down to business quickly enough for you - and busy moms need their time to be well spent.

I find that yoga helps me de-stress, spend time focusing on my soon-to-arrive baby, and reduces my tendency to get migraines, which are difficult to cope with while pregnant.

Re: Yoga: A Natural Prescription for Stressed-Out Moms Plus Give-Away

I blogged here:

http://thenewmommiezblend.b...

I will also definitely look into your podcast. :) Maybe I could put it onto my mp3 player. I'm not sure if I'm asking this in the correct place, but here goes. I won this giveaway and responded with my mailing address and have yet to receive your book. I am only asking because it has been a little over a month. I am really excited to read it and share it with my readers. I asked about it in the contact us section of this blog, but have yet to hear anything. I cannot for the life of me find the email that was sent either. Thanks so much for your help. I really enjoy reading your blog and was looking forward to reading your book. It's okay if it is unable to be sent. I can always buy it too. Have a great day.

Re: Yoga: A Natural Prescription for Stressed-Out Moms Plus Give-Away

Chelle, thanks for your comment!

I agree with you about yoga-- it's a very simple and natural way to allow
your body to move into a more natural way of being.

As for trouble with falling asleep? Being a mom and wife is a big job. If I have to pick one thing it's money. I have been a stay at home mom for a couple years now and it's been a huge adjustment for the whole family. It's why I started my blog. To show others that saving money and being earth friendly don't have to be such a chore. I do like yoga. I love how it makes me feel like I just had a full body massage (I've never had one, but I'm guessing this is what it feels like!) and stretches out my lower back like nothing else can. And it's pretty easy to do. I think people think it's about being insanely flexible. Anyone can do it. :) I have a hard time falling asleep at night and doing yoga before bed helps me unwind faster. I would advise everyone to try it.

Re: Live More Naturally: Purge Your Pantry with Dr Weil on Dr Oz

I love Dr. Oz. Keep the mantra simple, fresh, whole foods as your touchstones. I am not sure of your location but many larger cities do have fast-food healthy options. Many meals at home can be prepared in as little as 5 or 10 minutes-- quicker than waiting in line at a fast food restaurant.

Re: Week 4: A Moment’s Peace Giveaway & Your Questions Answered

As a working Mom, I need to rely on our caregivers to continue with our healthy lifestyle choices, but get frustrated when I hear that my daughter has watched more TV than we usually allow or is not eating the healthy meals that I have prepared. How can I get my caregiver on board with what we are doing? She is otherwise a very caring and reliable person - hard to come by someone to trust with your child - and we have let her know very clearly our beliefs and desires for healthy habits.

Re: Week 4: A Moment’s Peace Giveaway & Your Questions Answered

Thanks for your comment. I agree at times it can feel really challenging to
hold the course in a commitment to healthy living! The only person you have
to convince is yourself-- as your actions speak louder than any words.

Your children will learn to lead by your example, changing generations to
come! Congratulations to you. Keep up the good work.

With best wishes,
Elizabeth Irvine

Re: Week 4: A Moment’s Peace Giveaway & Your Questions Answered

I subscribe at newmommiez@gmail.com

Re: Week 4: A Moment’s Peace Giveaway & Your Questions Answered

Another big challenge for me is educating others about the benefits of eating healthy, recycling, etc. etc. A lot of people don't think alike and sometimes it is hard to carry out your own good ideas when you are constantly getting funny looks or not very encouraging responses. Not a lot of friends and family are on the same page as me. I tell sitters and family that I don't want my children's food or drink microwaved in plastic and I get ridiculed. I volunteer to take all of the recycling home from a camping trip because others just want to toss it out because it's easier. It's frustrating on a daily basis. I think I better look into some soothing oils. :)

Re: Week 3: Essential Oil Giveaway & Your Questions Answered

Thanks for your comment. I feel this is a very common question. One place I always suggest beginning with is this-- set your intention and dedicate your energy to creating a healthier lifestyle. Start with small steps- whether that is walking to your destination, replacing a candy bar with an apple or spending 5 minutes using my guided relaxation before you and your husband go to sleep at night.

With very best wishes,
Elizabeth Irvine

Re: Week 3: Essential Oil Giveaway & Your Questions Answered

There are many ways we can contribute to creating a healthy lifestyle from the inside out. My advice in how to get your son interested in fruit and veg? Lead by example. Also, make it readily available and easy to reach.
